Everything must go.
It is seven in the morning, the field is filling up, and your car boot is full of old computer kit: micros, disc drives, monitors, tape decks, joysticks and boxes of games, much of it sold as spares or repair.
A punter stops at your table, points at something and makes a cheeky offer. Now push your luck. Ask for more and the offer goes up, but every punter has a limit, and their face tells you when they’re getting close. Take the money too soon and you leave cash on the table. Push too hard and they walk off.
Mind the bench
Between customers, mend the faulty stock. A needle sweeps across the repair meter and one press of a key stops it. Land in the green and the item fetches a better price. Overshoot into the red and it lets out its magic smoke.
Beat the target
The stall clock runs from 07:00 to 10:00, which is 90 seconds of real time. Every day sets a profit target. Meet it and the next sale is busier, the punters are stingier and the needle is quicker. Miss it and you pack up for good. Your score is the cash in the tin, and the best ten traders go on the disc.
